Question Switching from 1st to 2nd Gear Problem

First time to post a message and I appreciate any helpful comments. I have a 2003 F150 regularcab 5-speed pickup 93,500 miles. Recentlly had the transmission fluid changed by a auto mechanic. Now it is hard to switch gears from 1st to 2nd. Any ideas why this would happen and any solutions? Switching to other gears is not a problem. Would the fluid change develope the issue? This may be hard to ask, but how involved would it be to correct or check out the problem. I'm hoping the right amount of fluid was replaced. Thanks!

Ask the mechanic what he used for oil. He should have used Mercon ATF. Pull the fill plug and check the level. Check it by putting your pinkey in the hole and trying to feel the oil level on the botton of the tip of your finger. No oil on the tip of finger means under filled, add oil. If oil comes out of the hole it was over filled. Have a pan ready just in case.
