a friend of mine has a 1990 f150 5.0 and his trans is going out if you go over 55mph it slips bad. There was two differant trans for that truck right?? If so will both work and what on is the best one and info you have would be great

 

Sounds like an aod to me. I assume it's a 5.0 liter engine? It will either have the e40d transmission which is completely computer controlled and is the big heavy yet very expensive unit or it will have the aod which is basically controlled by a tv rod or cable.
