2000 v6 light when you get in, in the morning and start it, it blinks for a few minutes and then stops. then the light does not come back on when you go to turn the car back on (you know how all the lights, light up) well the od light does not come on. it does shift fine and the od button turns the overdrive on and off with no problems to.. any ideas??????? help

 

When the light flashes a code is stored in memory. It will stay there even if the light doesn't flash again. Get it read, and then you'll have a BIG clue as to what's wrong.

If it's transmission related, what are the odds that it won't be expensive?

Just count the blinks.
When it pauses , that's where the decimal point goes.
