trans I.D please help

trans I.D please help

trans was bad, i buy the truck. thinking, i can get one easy.... well, not soo easy..... in the door, there is no..... no nothing under the TR.........so I cannot i.d. the trans........ my friend was going to give me a tranny to go into it, just?? its different. where the electronics hook up...... my electrical plug. looks like?? round.. with ?? a key hole...... in the middle......i have seen that same type of plug, on my al4d..... 2.3 4cyl... his is oval... like most other tranny's i have seen.. the truck is a 94 f150 302 auto 8' bed. thanks guys...............

under pan, it says. metric???.......does that help...........

thanks, Dirty....... i been trying to find out more info on the trans......why doe sit say "metric", on the pan???....... i got a trans out of a 98 ford e150. aod?? but the electrical plug is different form my 94f150... can this be true?? ort did they put that metric trans in.... and screwed up everything?? would an aod form a mustang work??? thanks, soo much, aloha, Mark in Hawaii

The truck should have a long tail housing and the mustang will be short. You will find some crownvic's and towncars should be the same. It sounds like you got one of the last aod's ever built because after yours was built they all went to 4r70w's like you found in the 98. Metric on the pan just means that the case basically has metric threads, don't read so much into it.

What is the trans code on your door jam sticker and what does the shifter display say? Do you have an overdrive lockout button on the end of the shifter?
