4R70W overdrive problem

I have a 1994 supercab with a 5.0 engine, the tranny was rebuilt about 5,000 miles back however since it mostly used as a backup truck that work was about 2 years ago. The truck shifts and pulls great thru 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and reverse is fine too. The problem is when it shifts to overdrive, it tries to catch, but then engine just revs up, don`t have a tach in this truck, but even my 54 year old ears can hear it. Any ideas other than shops or just pushing the OD button to off ?

I hyad this happen on a 95 Ranger with the 4.0 and 4r55e trans. It ended up being the TCC solenoid (torque converter control). This may be completely irrelevant, but may also give you a place to start looking.

02 f150 harley trouble

hi guys,
Im new to the forum and i really need your help. I have a 2002 f150 HD supercharged and it just stalled on me. It turns on fine but seems to not have power to go foward. Wwhen i accelarate it putters like mm i guess backpressure. i checked the codes and it gave me diferent ones one that i remmember is something to do with solenoid b circut failure or short circuit not 100% sure. Someone told me it might be my tranny. I read this subject at it seems this is the same problem can i get some input suggestions. thank you in advance. My o/d light blinks also.

While we're here to help, please don't "hijack" someone else's thread with a question of your own unless it's closely related.

I'd agree with the t/c solenoid, but a bunch of things could be causing the O/D to miss. Until then I'd leave the OD off, you could risk over-revving the motor. Don't rely on the ECU's rev limiter.

Sounds like a poorly adjusted or faulty mlps.

If I have to ask what a [mlps] is , does that mean I should not be messing with it??

Thanks.

Manual Lever position sensor. Autozone and the likes will call it a neutral safety switch. It is often reffered to as a trs (transmission range sensor) as well.
