tranny problem
tranny problem
Hello my sisters 2001 ford explorer 4x4 dont know what tranny is in it but she is having a problem around 35 mphs or i guess going from 2-3 gear anyways it when the rpms are above 2300 rpms then it jumps real fast. Example you start off and pickup to 3000 rpms and instanly it jumps to 4000 rpms and a second later it drops back down and runs fine. The only thing is this does not happen all the time and if you keep it under 2000 rpms getting up speed it does not do it. Is this the trans or could it be the torque converter. Help Please.

Sounds like the typical 5r55/4r55 solenoid problem to me.
