Autometer Temp Manifold- NEED AN ANSWER!!!!
Autometer Temp Manifold- NEED AN ANSWER!!!!
I really need to know which size manifold the F-150 uses, the 3/8" or the 5/16". Here's a link to both of them:

Here ya go ...

Thanks for the links. Yes, I've spent many hours searching and could not come up with any definitive answers. I've also posted this question before and received no responses. I've found some posts that claim the 4R70W lines are 3/8" and others that claim 5/16". I called the tech department at Summit, where I'll be ordering from, and was told that Ford has used 5/16" lines for many years on the F-150. I also called a tranny shop and was told the same thing.

Craig,
What gauge are you going to use? and where are you going to mount it? I have a '02 screw... I put 2 analog air pressure gauges just below the instrument cluster right and the controls for the air on the left side... plenty of clearance behind the panel (used to control the RS9000 shocks).
Just got the edge programmer - but no trans temp monitor... so now I need to add a gauge.
Thanks

Edit: I just checked the Edge site and they clearly state that the Transmission Fluid Temperature is one of the things that you can monitor. Is that incorrect?

EDGE lies. I called them to ask, and they confirmed that my truck does not monitor the trans temp. The guy on the phone sounded like he dislikes his job and was distracted.
That was the main reason I bought it - so I an a little pissed. Although I do like the program and the other gauges - but it's just not what they advertise.
BTW - I can't find anywhere on the site that it says trans temp??? Or for that matter what the functions that can be monitored are.

Well, if you had it all to do over again, would you buy the Edge?
Also, just wondering if you've looked at any of the gage pods that mount on the A pillar?--DIY

The pillar mounted pods would render my grab handle useless - and I use it every time I get in (it's a 4x4 with no side steps).

Just for the record, I've already seen the mechanical vs. electric posts and I don't buy it. Electrics are fine by me and that's what I'm sticking with. Anyway, I didn't want anything flashy and I wanted it to match my current instrument color background. I decided to buy a pod and try to mount it on my A-pilar. This wasn't my first choice, but I'd like it to be non-permanent. I've seen pictures of the steering column pod mount, but it seems to block the view of the instrument cluster, which I didn't like.
