turns out my truck has an extended warranty!

So, I took the truck into the dealer this morning, they called me before noon to tell me that they were going to have to drop the tranny because no codes showed up with the diagnostic. He also mentioned that my truck actually has an extended warranty service plan and that I would only have to pay the $200 deductible! It doesn't get better than that! I'll still post what the outcome of the repair is afterwards for anyone who may have this same problem (VictoriaF15).

reverse continued

I think I've narrowed the problem down to the valve body. If my reverse doesn't work, I put it into drive, hold down the brake, do a bit of a brake stand to build up the fluid pressures, and switch back to reverse and it works. I've been told that you don't have to drop the tranny to change the valve body. Hope you don't get soaked Cardo.

reverse answers

I got a call from the dealer this morning telling me that the planetary gear was broken. From what I've read, this planetary gear is basically the heart of the transmission so I guess it makes sense, but, if it is the heart and soul of the transmission why was it that I could use all other gears and the reverse worked when it was cold? Not that it matters too much in terms of me paying for it since it is under warranty and the whole transmission is being replaced. Does anyone have any comments regarding this? Thanks?
