Clutch repair
Clutch repair
I have a 98 F150 with the five spd. Lately i have gotton griding noises when i was starting out in first and 1 out of 4 shifts to third it just sucks my stick into the gear with a grindign noise. I have now clue what it is but im betting its the clutch. I am very mechanicly inclind and have swaped transmisions before but i have never done anything with a clutch.
I was wondering if anyone has done this repair that might be able to help with things to replace since im in there. Also if anyone has any advice on what all i should do and what i need to replace. Is it worth geting the clutch plate reground or just replace it.
Any help would be greatly appriceated.

Rev engine to 2000 RPM and with the clutch pressed in all the way try shifting from 1st to Reverse and back a few times. No grinding clears the clutch of all fault.
