should I change front seal

while the eng. is out should I change the front trans seal. I have noticed some wetness but not going low enough to need to add any.

You want to pull the tranny in a few months to replace it?

Look for a VITON-enhanced aftermarket seal. Far better than OEM grade. Contact your local transmission supply house.

I don't like the way the aftermarket ones install into the pump housing they fit too tight and one little knick can cause a leak on the outside of the seal. I stick to the oem seals they have never given me a problem. Everytime I have had a front seal leak on a transmission less than 20 years old it was because of a bushing problem.

Red face

well i did the deed and used a oem seal from napa. Hope I made the right choice. I put in my new rebuilt 351 and all is well after working out a few bugs. the only problem if it is at all is there is a slight hesitation or slip when getting on or off throttle so I am not sure if its drive train or the motor. what yall think?
