Possible cLutch pack worn ?
I've searched/read alot about shuddering when starting out in 1 st gear.
My 92 150/4.9L with T-18 tranny does this also. I've replaced the clutch and pressure plate due to city mileage, also had the flywheel resurfaced at the same time. The u-joints have also been replaced recently, one was completely worn out.
I'm ignorant when it comes to clutch packs in the rear end. Could they cause the whole truck to shake and shudder from low gear standing start?
I thought it would be a broken motor mount, but the engine doesn't move when I put the parking brake on and let the clutch out.
How do I test for worn(broken) clutch pack. The truck has 128K miles, all city and I tow a boat every week?
