Manual Tranny

I have a 1994 F150 with the Inline 6 and the M5OD tranny. The tranny recently went and I'm looking to replace it. I have been told by a few people that I should look into getting a ZF. The truck is 2wd and I primarily use it for towing. My question is what is required for this swap? There is a ZF tranny available at a local yard out of a 1993 F150 4x2 and will that bolt right in? Is the clutch or anything different. Some help ASAP would be great.

ZF didn't come in a F-150 other than some rare late 80s with a 300. You need a 4x2 '88-'97 F-2/350 with a 300/302/351, and not a 460 or 7.3L. I'm not to familiar with the lengths of the 4x2 trannys, so if you have the same bodytype as the donor I'd measure the driveshaft and snag it if need be. Clutch should be the same if I remember right.
