99 F-150 4x4 not shifting into 4 wheel drive
I have a 99 F-150 4x4 offroad wirh automatic transmission. The truck has electric shift . It clicks when turned to 4 wheel high, but doesn't engage the front drivetrain. Has anyone experienced this and was it a simple fix?
Do a search, this has been discussed alot. Problems can be from the GEM module to something as simple as a vacuum leak.
You might even do a search on my ID as I have posted in a few of them.

Howdy and welcome to posting!
Could be two things, either the transfer case shift motor isn't shifting, or the center axle disconnect isn't locking the axle. Easiest way to check is to try for 4low by going to neutral, brake, and then see if you move half speed. That would mean the transfer case is shifting and then you can look to your front axle.

I'm not sure, but I think that my buddy's ZR2 S10 had an actuator go bad somewhere...not real up to date on the electronics or electrical systems period, but that's what I remember....
