'01 Screw w/ slipping issue (question)
Hello everyone. Been searching these posts and there is some great information in here. Problem seems a little unique though (maybe not?). I have an '01 Screw w/120k trouble-free miles. I flushed and filtered the tranny at 100k but only seem to be having issues now (20k miles later). The truck will shift into gear no problem as long as your accelerating, but when you get into a traffic situation where you need to coast (40-45 mph) when you go to reengage acceleration in that same gear, it bucks and slips. Not bouncing down the road but enough to spill a full coffee. Definitely a tranny issue. RPMs are not affected at all. Is this just a slipping friction material issue or could it be something else? If so, any remedies that aren;t going to cost me 2,000 bucks? Any insight is much appreciated. Thanks a lot.
Howdy and welcome!
Post the tranny code from your door jam sticker to make sure you prolly have the 4R70w. Also did you use Mercon or Mercon V when you did the flush?

Yessir. 4rw70r. Mercon V as ordered on the stick.
Has not given me any issues at all, until now (been 20k) miles.
One other thing - It is reading a little high on the hot check - slightly up into the "do not add" range. Don't know if that could mean anything.
Thanks again.
