Slippage problems?
Slippage problems?
Hi Ford Gods! I am having a problem with my 02 Screw transmission. Last week it started slipping when it goes into third gear. It does not happen in the morning or after the truck has sat for awhile, but after about 30 minutes of driving it starts. Had it flushed last week to see if it would help, no difference. If it starts slipping I can turn off the overdrive until I get to about 60 and everything is OK. So, any ideas at what I may be looking at? Thanks beforehand!

However, you may be able to postpone this event. I'd suggest either LubeGuard RED or Lucas Transmission supplement.
Both have extra friction modifiers and sometimes will help a slipping transmission.
If either helps, start your transmission rebuild fund immediately.

Hey i have an 01' Screw and the coils in it went bad and caused a lot of slips and the overdrive would cause the truck to feel a shake, well after i fixed the coils the tranmission went out, so i had new one put in. If you have not taken it to a shop for them to try to get codes(if your check engine light is on.)the probly best thing to do. but check the coils if you have to. They are very hard to change so if you dont have an honest mechanic than you better check up on them b/c the back coils are very hard to get to. Truck still runs great though, the guy who rebuilt my transmission told me that the FORD try to put little bittie volvo trans. in big ole' trucks. He also mentioned that w/fords after about 100k miles it has great chances of complety going out but the good news is he said chevy's have problems all the time with there tranny's but the whole thing does not go out its little bittie electrical and other tiny problems but its a hassel with having to go to the shop to fix so many things all the time. And here they advertise they got that allision trans. thats super great. Pheww!
Good luck.
Good luck.

We'll see though.
