Chevy....Tow haul mode?
Chevy....Tow haul mode?
My friend had a 2000 silverado 1500 and I noticed it had a thing called Tow haul mode. It's exactly where the overdrive button is on my gear shifter thing. I also noticed there wasnt an overdrive button on his truck which lead me to think that Turning Tow-Haul mode on his truck was the same as turning overdrive off on my truck, correct? Or is it something else? THanks.

Yep...P RN(D)321 and then tow haul
the tow haul button when pushed lets the engine rev more before shifting, and it also shifts harder. A friend had a 2000 model 5.3 2wd/reg cab...floor it with the tow haul pushed and it would get rubber when it shifted into 2nd. Pretty fast truck....for a stocker. That brings up another point...or rant...I was looking to buy a 5.4 2wd/reg cab, all the dealers said that Ford didn't make them other than a Lightning. This was back in I believe 2003. I love the 5.4...torquey...but I KNOW that they made the pre-'04 models in a reg cab 2wd with the bigger engine. They just wanted to sell me a V6 model which they had on the lot. Their loss....I bought a used 2003 Lightning and haven't looked back.
