4.56 gears

is this the correct place to ask about axle gears?

well any way i have 285/75/16 tires and it completly changed my gearing... i want to go to the 4.56 (currently 3.55). i pull a trailer quite a bit which is the reason for the change. i want to know if this will make a difference b4 i put the money down. and it is a 4x4 so ill have to do the rear and the tranfer case correct?

im not sure how many tire sizes you have gone up but 4.56's seem pretty tall. i went from 31 to 33's on my fullsize bronco and i changed the gears from 3.55 to 4.56's. 4.10's would have put me right back to the stock pwr band but it cruises in OD so if i didn't have OD (over drive) then i'd be winding up the motor to high rpm. that was with 2 sizes bigger tire. BTW you'll need to regear the front and rear axles not the t-case...
