trans drain plug

trans drain plug

my 87 f-150 4 speed has only one plug on the side of the tranny, and its on the passenger side of the tranny, i opened it up b/c i wanted to check fluid, it was dirty, now my problem is that i can't find a drain plug on it???? idk what tranny it is but its a 4 speed no granny and has overdrive.. what do i do i've looked all around on the tranny, but nothing??? thanks fo the help i will get more info for ya's...

If nothing else use a hand pump to pull the old fluid out. I found one for $5 at Harbor Freight. I do this on my rear diff and use it pull tranny fluid from the pan for freshing up.

thanks for your reply steelers, that is a great idea, i can't believe i can't find a drain plug, and i have three trucks with this tranny later everyone

Perhaps one more reason none are around, ya can't change the fluid simply! Still waitin to see one so you will be handsomly rewarded for getting some pics up for me that I can use on the tranny info page.
