No reverse, forward is fine

I have a 99 F150 4x4 and up until a few days ago it was working fine. I backed the truck by my house and it sat for a few days. I moved it to cut the grass and now it won't move in reverse. It will shift into reverse fine, it just doesn't move. It seems like it wants to (almost like the tires are spinning). Forward works fine. I checked the fluid and it is red and full. I have never had a problem with it going into reverse before and it has never made any bad noises changing gears either. It does do that OD shudder every now and then, but it is very sporadic and has done it for years. No OD flashing light either. I'm stumped.

Something's broke inside the transmission. Reverse is always hydraulic/mechanical, meaning that if the transmission was electronically dead, you'd still have at least one forward gear and reverse. Internal failure, gotta pull it apart and see what's broken.

I guess I get the last laugh. It wasn't the tranny after all. It looks like the parking brake adjustment screw broke off and wedged itself inside the parking brake drum. I took it apart and cleaned everything out and it goes in reverse fine now. I'm glad it was only a brake job and not a new transmission!!
