Question M50D reverse light switch?

My reverse lights will sometimes come on while driving and won't go out till I let it sit for a while or overnight. Dealership says it's likely a check ball type switch on the top side of the tranny. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!!!

On the driver side towards the front on the Shift Control Housing you will see the switch. It should be red.

Thanks man, replaced it last weekend, but I don't think it needed it. When I removed the old one it shot out of there with a LOT of force as well as the auctuating rod (I assume) so I pushed it back in and put the new switch in and it seems to be good. Think it just needed to blow off that pressure for whatever reason...??? Thanks!!!
