Smile 1st tranny and diff fluid change

I have a 2006 fx4 SC. I was wondering if it's neccesary to change your tranny fluid and rear end fluid after about 3k miles or should I just wait till 30,000? Thanks. krb1

No need to change it now. Also the only way to get all the tranny fluid now is to do a flush. There is no longer a drain on the TC.
Also, if you ever change the diff and have a limited slip rear, make sure you add the friction modifier.

Change the tranny fluid at 30 000, but as far as I know, the rear never, or at least for a looooooonnng time needs to be changed unless you work on it or submerge in water. Read the owners manual for specific intervals for fluid changes. The torque converters don't have a drain anymore? That's no good!

They must be pushing the flush that the dealers do instead of a total change. I suppose that the little left in the TC won't matter that much, mixing with the new stuff. The fluid seems very forgiving anyways. Most people are stupid and never change it ever.

The TC holds almost 9 quarts of fluid! Thats not a "little" bit of fluid.
