Only moves when Tcase is engaged..?

I had to replace the equilizer bushings on my bronco the other day which poped out on me during a run making me drive home without a clutch pretty much.

Well, I decided to take a little run today since I have the bushings swapped out. Got in, threw the truck into gear and got nothing. No movement or anything. So I threw it into
each gear and even reverse and still nothing. So, I got out, locked the
front tires and then put the case in 4H, and, I'm moving. At least I can still
get her to move if need be...

Now, I try putting the case back into neutral after I parked it and it
wouldn't, so there's binding making me believe that the rear tires were
trottin' along.

So, got out unlocked the front tires, but kept the case in 4H. I put the
tranny in gear and she moves. So, it's appearant something's up. I lack a
lot of knowledge to diagose this, so I was wondering if you guys knew what was up or could point me to some literature.

*When I had the truck locked and in 4W, I only went to the top of my
driveway so I only went a few feet. The truck has an NP435 with a 205
transfer case.

Thanks for the help,

I'm a little confused by this. The 205 tcase has to be in the 2 hi position to make the truck move in 2wd. It will not move in neutral. The tranny is effectively disconnected from the drive line. If you put it in 4Hi and cut the wheels sharply it should bind if the rear wheels are engaged. If I remember correctly the 205 pattern is:

4Lo
|
N
|
2Hi
|
4Hi

So try pulling it all the way back into 4Hi and then up one notch to 2Hi instead of Neutral.

Hope that helps.

yep...N in the T-case = NO movement at all.
