Help with Fluids Please
I need some help, and I was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction.
Before I begin, my owner’s manual is long gone)
I found a mechanic who will replace all my fluids, as well as my plugs.
He told me to buy all the stuff, and he will take care of the labour.
I just need to know:
1) Do I have to buy the stuff from the dealer, or can I get it all from the local parts store.
What exactly am I asking for, and how many quantities?
The truck is:
2002 F150, 5.4 Supercab, Styleside
4x4
I am changing:
* Front & Rear Diff
* Tranny Fluid
* Power stearing fluid
* Brake Fluid
* Engine Coolant
* Spark plugs (platinum)
* Fuel filter
If someone could tell me the exact part numbers, and quantities, this would be a great help.
Thanks in advance
PS---> What should I expect to pay for this stuff?
Thx

front diff :3.6 qts SAE 75W-90 GL-5 gear lube also add 4-8 oz of friction modifier ( Ford part no. c8az-19b546-a) to the rear axles
rear diff : 5.7 qts SAE 75W-140 GL-5 synthetic gear lube
Tranny : 14 qts MERCON V ATF
Power Steer : same tranny fluid don't remember how much
Brakes : DOT 3 brake fluid
engine coolant : 19.4 qts 50/50 mix of coolant and water
spark plugs :motorcraft AWSF-22W ( or equivalent ) at 0.054 inch gap
fuel filter : I can't remember the part number just ask for your model at the parts counter
Oha and all of this added together would run you $150 bucks give or take $40 . but this is a total fluid overhaul and i guarentee you woulkd pay more if the fluids were provided by the mechanic .
hope this helps !

friction modifier only needs to be added if he has a LS rear diff
