Switching to Amsoil Trans Fluid

I heard it would be ok to disconnect trans line going into cooler, run engine, and pour fresh trans fluid into dipstick hole at same rate it was coming out until it turns cleaner...does this sound ok? Id like to completely change out fluid in my 02 f150 w/ 5.4. Btw I'd do this after dropping trans pan and changing out that fluid and filter first!

CLICK HERE for the method I use to do that. It's very easy, and changes almost 100% of the fluid.

Is amsoil synthetic tranny fluid Mercon V application use acceptable? I put it in over a year ago and tranny shifts hard. What is the chemical or fluid dynamic difference between mercon/mercon V? Is using amsoil multi use tranny fluid hurting my tranny?

I have heard of another that had some issues with Amsoil in his transmission, that's why I went to Redline D4. I have heard of no complaints with it. I did the torque convertor drain and pan dump on mine, took about 3-4 hours for it to stop dripping but I got it all out but 1 quart. Redline has been in my F150 for alittle over 2.5 years. When I first bought my F150 if you accelerated to pull out into traffic and had to back off before it got into second gear it would feel like it slammed into gear alittle too hard in my opinion. Took it to the dealer and they said it was fine, hasn't done it again since I installed Redline.
