Blinking Transmission Control Switch

I have a 2002 f-250 super crew with 5.4l gas motor and automatic trans 4x4. Recently the engine light came on and my mechanic said it was the torque converter clutch switch. He said his diagnostic computer said there was a problem with either the power or the ground to the solenoid. He cleared the code and said to drive it and see what happened. Within 20 miles the engine light came on again. I stopped the truck and pushed in the Transmission Control Switch at the end of the turn signal arm. Everything seemed to work correctly. When I pushed the switch in again it began to blink but the overdrive seemed to work OK. The truck has 32,000 miles on it. The owners manuel says to have the transmission serviced if the TCS blinks like that. When I got home I turned the truck off after I put it in park. I restarted the truck and the TCS stopped blinking but the engine light is still on. I had the transmission fluid and filter changed at 29,000 miles and the fluid reads correctly on the dip stick. I used the ignition switch and odometer control button to have the system do a self check. I got 45 different codes but a possible error code is P604 or P0604. I think this has something to do with the power control module but I'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas? Also where can the average guy go to get a list of all the computer codes?

First, you can't get engine or transmission codes through the odo control button.

From what the mechanic told you either the wiring to the solenoid is bad, or the solenoid is bad. Get it fixed.
