how do I tell what trans I have

How do I tell what type of transmission I have it is a 1999 F150 supercab, 5.4l 4X4 and it takes mercon V fluid ?

Check the sticker on the drivers door and under TRAN there is a code, post it and somebody will tell you what you have.

4R70w = TRANS code U (use Mercon V)
4R100 = TRANS code E (DO NOT use Mercon V, just Mercon)
