Angry Trans Problem any suggestions

So far I've been very lucky with my supercrew 2001 Lariat leather and all the bells and whistles purchased new in Feb 2001 and have NEVER had problem one untill today running down the interstate and lose overdrive engine turning 6k rpm and just coasting then get parked and lo and behold No Reverse either so now I have no overdrive and no reverse on a truck thats been well cared for and has a total of 28609 miles and that is the correct mileage,so ya'll know where I'll be bright and early in the am,Has anyone else had this problem?

You may have a broken reverse sun gear and shell assembly. When the reverse sun gear weld breaks you lose reverse, 2nd and overdrive. Trans has to be disassembled to repair.

Unhappy My 2001 is broke too!!

The tranny on my 4x4 f150 2001 xlt with 70,590 miles died Monday. Just quit all of a sudden, started bucking and reving up without moving much, OD light flashing on and off. Drove it straight to the shop, about 3 miles and the mechanic says it's shot, still waiting for the actual verdict, once he gets the guy on the big rack off and gets to pull my pan.......tommorow I guess I 'll know how much they gonna hit me up for......DAmn
