Angry hurst shifter rattle!!

Does anyone know why this shifter would rattle, it's brand new, and I followed the instructions, and I'm half tempted to take it off and put the factory one back on, because it rattles (mostly in 5th gear) and I have to turn the radio on or it will drive me crazy!
thanks

did you install the isolator correctly? that should eliminate the rattle.

or you can just rest your hand on it all the time. that works pretty good too.

You mean the neoprene insulator right? cus I did that, and it literally disintegrated...so its just the metal on metal, but that isn't where its coming from...it's more like all the gears need tweaking, or something..I actually thought that I needed that extra part if the stick is 1/4" longer, but it can't be that..man...its irritating! This shifter is street legal right?

I think it's because the Hurst shifter transfers more noise from the transmission. Look at the factory shifter, it's huge. I think its like that to absorb the sound. Even though Hurst sends that isolator, the Hurst shift lever is thin. The rattle can be annoying. Get yourself a nice loud Flowmaster exhaust. Then you won't hear anything.
