Please educate me on the Mercon V and why it shouldn't be in the 4R100. Every bottle of MerconV it says it surpasses all Mercon,etc.... What problems would occur??
Thanks,
Rob
A few years back on thedieselstop there was a powertrain engineer from ford that designed the 4R100 who explained in great detail all the problems that occur because of the friction modifier that is in Mercon V and not Mercon. All I remember was that he said that the E4OD and 4R100 are the only ford trannys that are designed to not have friction modifier in the fluid.
