The ultimate final solution?

Hi all, I have a '99 F-150 with a 4.6L motor and the infamous 4r70w tranny. I have had the 'shudder' problem since about 50K miles on it. It gets better for a short time after a fluid change but eventually comes back. I added the Transgo valve body to it and I put in a couple of tubes of some lube guard that is suppose to fix the shudder problem (it does for a little while). All of this helps but it's not perfect. With just over 100K on the truck now, I am looking to a final and permanent solution to my tranny problems. What is the ultimate solution? Just change out the torque converter? New/rebuilt tranny w/ tourque converter? Which maker/vendor/model number should I get one from? I'm pretty tired of the tranny shudder issue and it almost seems certain that a new tranny will be in order fairly soon. I'm not too keen on waiting until the cold months of winter to have to fix it when I could be a little more proactive and get it fixed before something more serious happens or if it stands me on the side of the road.

Thanks for the help.

David
