Tranny Problem

I have recently started having problems with the tranny in my truck. The problem is after the truck has set for a while...8 hours or more. When I start out and drive for a little way the first time the truck has to down shift from 3rd to 1st it does not want to do it.. It is like I am stuck in 3rd gear starting out, after going a little ways I can feel the truck down shift and then will go without any problems. If I drive for a ways and do not have to stop it does not have a problem. I have started to start out and drive with the truck in 2 for a ways and then shifting to drive ....no problems. It only seems to be doing it right now on the initial shift from 3rd to 1st....it seems like it is ok after the tranny gets to temp.

Truck is a 2000 F150 4x4 with the 4.6 and the 4r70w. Truck has 90,0000 miles and the tranny has had the fluid changed a couple of times, last time around 70k.

Any thoughts??

Thanks.

Might want to have them check your valves as well. Sounds like one may need cleaning/replacement.
