Question The Right Stuff

Is there a better-than Mercon V ATF than Ford’s? I have read several threads concerning this issue. I would prefer a pure synthetic, but I have not been able to find one that is not multi-rated. Ford, and several others, state do not use multi-rated ATF. Use one rated only for Mercon V service. Any suggestions regarding a viable synthetic ATF with believable and proven compliance to Ford’s Mercon V requirements?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Ford says not to use a multi rated fluid in a trans that requires MERCON. They don't say that about a trans that requires MERCON V. I'd use the dual rated synthetic.

Casey_1,

For my edification, what brand of synthetic do you use?

I use Mobil 1 synthetic, but I have a 4R100 that requires MERCON.
