Sticky Shifter
Sticky Shifter
Since I installed the Hurst shifter the shift movements hae been sticky to almost none functional at times.
I have been keeping a log for the last 2 weeks and come to the following;
1. When the transmission is cold the movements are fine and there is hardly any noise. This is happens in my morning commutes when the outside temp. is below 60 degrees.
2. When the transmission is hot the movements are sticky and noise is profound especially in 3rd and 5th gear.
Has anyone observed this with their vehicle?
I have a 2002 F150 SC, v6.

Update:[U]
After lengthy conversations with Hurst's Quality staff, I was advised to return the shifter and that I have a fluke transmission.
I will say this, The person I talked to at Hurst was very professional and curtious.
I re-installed the O.E.M. shifter and wonders never end, The trans is back to shifting smoothly and no more noise.
