Drilling Converter Drain Plug
i see...thank you for your input...i know from experience drilling and tapping can be a challenge and with the diffrent metals out there some make a "spiral" chip when threading where others will just make a big mess... you could allways(i've done this before) put a magnet on the drill/tap.. it works..thanks...zap!

My 01 has it too. Guess they were only installed on a few trucks, cause most people here with newer or older trucks don't have these.

That was an extremely amateur attempt at covering up your inadequacies. Before you give advice on drilling torque converters, you should at least become proficient in checking your transmission fluid level.

Does anyone have detailed instuctions on how to drill and tap for a plug ?? Do I have to be carefull how deep I drill ?? Size and thread of plug ?? Tap ?? How do I know exactly where to drill ?? Can I do it with just removing the inpection plug or is there more involved like removing the inpection cover?? If I add the plug will it unbalance the converter ?? I am pretty mechinically incliend but have never done this proceure before and think it would be necessary to get the most out of the oil change.
Sorry for all the questions but screwing this up would be a big fix ....

I use the container flush method. Like Casey said, it can get expensive if you mess up.
Good Luck!

I'm good. You've seen a few of my posts, so you must know by now that I'm just here to offer my opinion and toss in a few chuckles. So, how did you like my method for checking for limited slip?
Personally, I liked my gas mileage calculation. here That one even cracked me up
