What kind of tranny?

I've got an 89 F150 302 auto. The door sticker gives a T code for tranny. When I look up the code on some websites it says a T is a four speed auto (ranger). My indicator has P R N OD D 1. There is no overdrive lockout switch since it is obviously done by shifting into D. Anyone know for sure what transmission this is?

I believe that was the A4OD. The trucks of that era had little chrome tags on the tailgate that said 'overdrive'.

C6 would be PRND21
AOD would be PRN"OD"D1
E4OD would have the lockout button.

There's no tag on the tailgate and the indicator has P R N "OD" D l. There is no switch I looked at a 90 yesterday and it had the switch but mine has nothing in that location.

I have never seen the aod/e transmission in a truck. A 4r70w has a larger output shaft bushing and a different internal gear ratio. Physically they look the same, but if you go getting parts for an aod/e they probably won't work and if they do they are not as good as the 4r70w counterparts.

I failed to mention that it is a 4WD truck. Sounds like it must be an AOD since there's no OD lockout button or switch.
