Whine in drive train?

I hear a whine in the drive train and suspect it to be in the Tranny.

The tranny fluid is fine, but hasnt been changed in the 2 years since i have owned it. Has anybody heard this whining before? It almost sounds like a Muncie M-22 rock crusher tranny but not as loud. It kind of sounds like a solid drive train, but i dont remember the sound this time last year, maybe i just didnt think much of it then, or maybe it has developed and is an obvious sign of a dying tranny?

I havent checked the rear end oil, but will be doing that soon. However, it doesnt sound like its coming from the rear, it sounds like it is coming from the engine compartment.

Does anybody have any suggestions or diagnosis?

Wolf.

I have a slight whine coming from my t-case. More pronounced when cold. Changed the oil in everything, (trans, t-case,diffs). Still happens when cold. Everything still works well so I guess I'll ride it till it don't.
