4EAT Tester?
4EAT Tester?
Okay.. Before I continue, I beg the mercy of the board..
I'm not finding this information elsewhere, and it's getting late. I'm not trying to be flamed..
My daughter's mom (read baby momma) has a '92 Probe LX (3.0 V6, automatic). The Manual Shift light flashes, when driving.
I have a Ford Probe Car Service manual.
It says to connect a 4EAT Tester-- I'm certain this is a Ford Specific diagnostic plug in.. I found something that does an emulator for that on ebay-- $265 and days to go on the auction..
It said I should be considering Control Module, Sensor and Circuit problems..
The bottom line-- is there a cheap diagnostic alternative for this, and are any of the above reasonably replaceable..
She's realistically going to sell the car in a month, and I'm pretty sure based on past performance, that the money I put into this car will be just that.. Money I put into it..
I guess I'm wondering should I just disconnect the light bulb, to encourage to ignore it??
I would be willing to try a fluid and filter change, as I've already bought a filter.. But is that just wasting time??
Again... Not trying to get flamed.. I realize this is NOT a Ford Truck question..
The Ford Probe questions seem to be focused on 17 year olds wondering how big of tires they can put on it, and stuff that is of no help.
I just want to make sure my daughter is safe in this car, going to and from school..
Thanks for your understanding-- don't worry, I don't plan on making a habit of this..
Althought I've got a 76 Ranchero GT, that....
Thanks
AJ RN
