Drive line vibration

I have been reading here about complaints of shudders . I have a 95 F150 5.0L with an E4OD . I get a vibration at 25mph that will stay there if a stay at that speed. If I accelerate it comes back around 45mph . I goes away when it shifts into OD. I have changed U joints , had the steady bearing checked the drive shaft balanced (which was out) . I thought it must be in the transmission I took it to a tranny shop and the mechanic test drove it and said I didnt think it was the tranmission I had it serviced, fluid and filter changed any how and we said there was no wear evidence in the pan. I guess I believe him because tranmission shops can be notorious for doing work thats not required. Any Thoughts.....? Also this guy tells me that OD tranmissions of this vintage should be kept over the full mark because of a design flaw with the dipstick or tube length he claims ther was a service bulletion approx 4 yrs ago. Any one else ever heard of this?
Look forward to your replys

when it comes to a driveline vibration that comes and goes with diffrent speeds... the tires is what i would have looked at first...out of balanced tires or scalloped front tires could be the culprit...zap!

It sounds like the problem is somewhere in front of the driveshaft because it sounds like it is RPM related. Are you sure it is not engine related? Could it be a miss that is occuring at a certain RPM under a certain load? When was the last tuneup? Driveline vibrations are a real pain. From the info you gave it sounds like it is not speed related but more like an RPM related thing. Did you try running up to the same RPM in different gears to see if it appears in all gears or just 1st and 3rd? I think that truck has a lock up torque converter but to my untrained brain it doesn't really sound like torque converter shudder.

These are some thoughts but honestly that's a tough one. Good Luck!!

Got rid of the vibration ! While I was having the transmission serviced the mechanic noticed a leak at the extension . Two bolts on the left were loose. Had to take it back to have the gasket replaced , now no leak and no vibration.
