Time to ask a stupid question
"Double clutching" is when you shift out of a gear, release the clutch in neutral, and then depress the clutch again before entering the next gear. This is common practice for big rigs and other vehicles that are equipped with a crash gearbox (non-synchronized transmission). Apparently it's also common practice for some of our members who own 5 speed trucks.
Remember there's no stupid questions, only stupid replies.
Good luck.

What he said, in addition to the fact that when in neutral with the clutch out, you change the engine speed to let you shift into the next gear on a non syncro gearbox. Although thats not important on our syncro trannys, but if you do it right you save wear on your syncros and it is pretty darn
too.
