Automatic Transmission Overdrive

Okay, I own a 1999 F-150 X-Cab 4x4. It has 82,500 miles on it. Several months ago, the automatic overdrive transmission malfunction indicator light (on the end of the gear selector) starting flashing intermittently so I took it to my local Ford dealership to have it looked at. $2500.00 later I had a new transmission and all seemed well, (except my wallet). Shortly thereafter, the light started flashing again. I took it back to the Ford dealership as I got a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty on the transmission. They said (after keeping it for a day and a half) that they could not get it to replicate the problem for them and that when they hooked the truck up to the computer everything looked fine. I was told to bring it back in immediately if it happened again. 2-3 weeks ago, it started again and I immediately drove back to them. They hooked it up to the computer on the spot and told me that they were able to "pull two codes" on the problem and that I needed to set up an appointment to have it worked on. I set up the appointment for 7 AM that following Monday and left it there the night before (Sunday). By Wednesday I still had not heard from them and got no response to messages that I had left so I went back down there. We had a snowstorm that Sunday evening that I had left the truck there and when I went back, I found my truck parked around back in the same spot, with snow still in the bed of the truck. It appeared that the truck had never even been in their bay after almost 2 days....even with an appointment. Needless to say I was angry and went inside and demanded my keys back. The kid was apologetic and told me that he'd get me a rental vehicle and that his transmission guy was still "looking into it" I explained that I knew that this was B.S. based on the snow and the fact that the truck hadn't been moved in almost two days. What was the point of having an appointment? I left and figured that I would take my chances. The truck continued to drive fine and the light wasn't flashing anymore. Tonight on the way home from work the light came on and started flashing, then I noticed that the truck wasn't shifting on the highway once I got up to about 60 MPH. I tested it and got it up to 70 MPH and the RPM's were running up to 3000 and still wouldn't shift. I got it up to 80 MPH and the RPM's were running at around 3700 and still it wouldn't shift. It was as if I had it in a low gear or the overdrive was off. When I got home (I only live 7 miles away) it smelled like something was burning when I parked it in the garage. Anyways, sorry for the rant, but does anyone have any idea what the problem is? What about the dealership? Can I got to any Ford dealership to have the work done since it is warranteed thru Ford? I don't want to go back to the one that I dealt with previously.
