I have been looking at the post, and I still am not positive what trans I have. On the door jam would it have "TR with a U" under it for 4R70W, the pan has the hump in the center.
The truck is a 01 Screw, 5.4 4X4.
Trans line got pulle out of the cooler by a swtump under water, big mess but I just want to put the right fluid in it.
Last Question what is the very best fluid, and how many Quarts..
She gets only the best.

Trans code "U" is the 4R70W, which would use Mercon V fluid. Also look at your dipstick and it should say to use Mercon V. Unless you want to get into expensive exotics, all of the major brands will do fine such as Valvoline, Castrol, Pennzoil etc., just as long as they are the Mercon V rating. As for how many quarts, hard to say as it depends on how much you lost, full capacity is around 13qts. Just keep adding a quart at a time and checking your dipstick until you reach the "cold full" level. Then start your truck and get the trans to operating temp then top-off until "hot full".

First you get "Screwed" then add a supercharger and get "Blown"!!!
