Question Clutch time...

1997 F150 4.6 with the pos Mazda 5 speed... Needing a clutch, and I want the best.. I tow a boat in the summer and run 295/75 tires.
Any aftermarket Slave units out there? Replaced this one already once, immmediately started leaking..

Ive searched and seen that Centerforce might be the best bet, 10, or 11 inch?
any help is greatly appreciated..

Oh by the way, going to be replacing the entire drivetrain soon..

Front is going to be from a 79 Bronco and the rear is going to be a DANA 60.. Going to be coil sprung in front with some great articulation. Ill be sure to post pics hopefully play by play.

Thanks for any help!
Want.

Wow, sounds like a cool project. Sounds like a on the hardness scale though. I too need a clutch for the 97, and am fearing the project with all the stuff that needs to come out first.

I would go with a Centerforce clutch.

We ran centerforces on the 4x4 pulling truck and never toasted even after 3 seasons. Use to change clutch every year regaurdless. They are nice and soft but hold like crazy. If we could pull a weight transfer sled a boat should be cake.

Talking Clutch-IN!

Got the SOB in but man, felt like I dissassembled half the dang truck to do it. Very nice change though, Centerforce has great feel.. Now onto the suspension,
Im rebuliding the Ford 9 right now for the back and just pulled the DANA 44 for the front.. Should look and ride pretty good when im done.

Thx for the input.
