Cool what about the magnet?

Hello all, I am currently installing a Moroso aluminum pan on my 2001 HD. And you know what, like a idiot I didnt think about the magnet. How is a magnet suppose to stay in place? Should I leave it out?

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

how else would a magnet stay in place on a metal tranny pan?!?!?!?!?!

as for leaving it in, i would suggest doing so... when you get shavings of metal in your system, that magnet attracts them to keep them from going back through the system and putting more wear on it.... i would put it in... as for how it stays in place? seriously... lol im not doggin ya, but its a magnet... wherever you put it on a metal tranny pan, its gonna stay put... guarenteed

Clean the magnet very good with some brake parts cleaner and epoxy it in place. get some quick drying epoxy will be set up in 10 minutes and will be ready by the time you have the pan bolted up.

Is that one of those special aluminum magnets?
Read his post a little closer. He installed an aluminum pan. It's metal, but not steel.

I would use epoxy to glue it to the bottom of the pan.

Don't JB Weld a magnet to the pan, weld a large flat washer instead and then put the magnet on the flat washer, makes it easier to remove the magnet for cleaning later.
