At higher speeds, my manual 4wd shift lever rattles and vibrates as if something is touching it . It increases with speed.

I greased whatever I could underneath the truck near the manual shifter, but it doesn't seem to help.


Any suggestions?

 

Check the extension housing. I have the same problem. Or should I say had the same problem. Mine got worse and had a vibration in the truck at 55 to 65 mph. The Bushing had turned in the extension housing and finally came out. My truck is now parked until I get the parts in to fix this. Which is replacing the extension housing. That is the only way I have found to get the new bushing. which had already messed up mine. So good luck. There are some service bulletins out on this.
