Found this in Transmission Pan???

Found this in Transmission Pan???

I changed my tranny fluid tonight & when I drained the pan this was in there....Does anyone know what this is?

Yep.. Thats a plug the factory installs when they build the tranny to keep the crap out of the tranny before it is installed. You can discard the plug.

Cool man!!! Thanks!!! I already put everything back togother hoping it wasn't nothing important....WHEW!!!! Thank god I didn't waste all that fluid!!

i wonder how many guys hearts have stopped and nights of sleep have been lost over that little piece of plastic. i remember finding my first one. went into full panic.

Ford has been puting those in transmissions sinse 1964 Just think how many people have asked this question and how many people have tryed to find a place for them and how much money ford spent buying them.

OH NO! Its the "Pisshotty Discombobulator Higgajimmy Plug"! You need to remove your pan and re-install it or your tranny will evaporate!

I wish I had a pic of each persons face when they see this plug floating around in the pan!

i think it plugs the dipstick tube hole before the tube is installed. when installed they just push in the tube pushing the plug into the pan.
