E40D Tansmission

How do I know if I have a E40D transmission? I have a 1998 4X2 XLT Supercab with 4.6L V8 with overdrive?

It's a 4r70w. I'm yet to see an e4od behind a 4.2.

There was never an E4OD behind a 4.6L, either.

Are you having issues with tranny

I have the exact truck, are you having any issues with it. I have a few. Overdirve light just started flashing the other day, not sure what they may be. Also I have a whining noise when its cold on excelleration. I don't drive it much so I'm not in a hurry to get it fixed. Any ideas what it might be?
