Ok i have a 1989 F150 with the V-8 302 i got it it used and I dont think the shift **** is right. its a XLT Lariat body style

It shows i have 4 gears with one showing a OD and reverse so there are 6 positions on the manual shifter but i can't seem to find the OD which should be striaght up from reverse.

the truck tag in the door says TRANS = F or code F if you will, i cant find that code anywhere on the Ford website and checking the VIN dont seem to help

I am beginning to think this **** is wrong

I'd love to help but I have no clue what you have. If it was a 5spd I know what it is but a 4spd stumps me.

Code F is a T18/T19, which is a granny low 4 speed with no OD. Drive it like a 3 speed.
