Autometer tranny temp gauge temps

Say that three times fast! anyway i need a poll guys. I have a 2001 4x4 supercrew with the 4r70w, i installed an autometer tranny temp(electric) in the port on the drivers side, i believe it says "line" next to it. I am seeing temps from 140 to 170 F is this about right what are you guys getting in the SAME port? Thanks!!

I get the same in my E40D on the driver's side port. Just pulled my 5,600 lb trailer and temp didn't go over 155-160 or so. On a hot, humid day it might hit 180 without the trailer. In the winter when it's very cold the gauge will take about 20 miles before it even moves and will never hit 150.
