Hello,

I've got a 1988 F150 4WD with a 302 and 4-speed manual transmission. The shifter has come loose and I need to reinsert it into the transmission.

I believe I've got a Borg Warner T18 or T19. I peeked under the truck but couldn't make a positive ID. The sticker in the door jamb has an F code.

Can anyone tell me a good way to put the shift stick back in? I thought I had it in place but nothing moves. My wife said she was in reveres when it came loose, so I tried angling the stick some to no avail. I'd appreciate any advice folks can offer.

Also, does the F code specify a T18 or T19?
