Wrong Transmission fluid?????

What would happen if the Jiffy Lube people put the wrong type of fluid in my Transmission? My Taurus calls for Mercon 5. After they did the fluid evacuation, my car would seeem to slip occassionally in first gear under hard acceleration then jump into 2nd. I also put the Lucas Trans additive but i dont think that would cause this. I'm thinking about getting a sample for analysis if the lube manager gives me any static about replacing the fluid again. How should i proceed?

Overfilling can cause slipping, check your level while it is hot, running, and in park on level ground.

Underfilling as well

Over-filling will cause "foaming" which will cause slipping, under-filling will also cause slipping.

How many miles does the car have?

Yup, its low. Not even registering on the dipstick. My experience when it was low was for it to take a few seconds to grab. I feel kinda stupid now but they are sending a tow truck to pick it up now. I probably need to get a lawyer, huh?

Unhappy Wrong/Low Tranny Fluid

If you are convinced the trans is damaged by the "Underfilling", get another mechanic or shop to document the fact it is low. You need proof to pursue a claim.
Jiffy Lube is a big company. Hopefully, they will make it right. Even if it costs money. If not, go right to their corp. hdqtrs.
I was in California Small Claims Court on a business matter for my employer. I watched a guy sue a transmission shop for botching up an over-haul. The shop had to reimburse him the cost to have another shop correct the bad work.
I think he paid $900 plus to the first shop and $1,400 plus to the second shop. The judgement ended up being over $1,500 to cover all the costs.
Good luck and I hope it turns out well for you.
